Normal Speed of Social Security Name Change

The previous post had a good time for a social security name change.

However, this seems to be the more typical experience:

"While driving, since we made good time, I decided that since the Social Security office was on our way that I would just swing by there and get my name change done in the spare hour I had until time for the doctor's appointment. While I was there I saw Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Yes, I was that foolish. Like they have a drive-thru window where I can pop in and out. The wait was four hours. No lie. The security guard who was at the door saw my number and I said, "what are my odds of being out of here in less than an hour?" she said, "Maybe four hours, if you're lucky". GEEZ."
